Skurman Architects is a renowned classical architecture firm located in San Francisco, acclaimed for custom-designed homes and expertise in classical design across French, Georgian, and Mediterranean (Greco-Roman) styles. Position overview We are looking for a skilled Architectural Designer with a minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in architectural design, ideally with experience in classical architecture. This position involves working closely with the firm\u2019s Principals and Senior Architects to develop and implement design concepts that adhere to our classical design philosophy. Key responsibilities Collaborate with the firms Principals and Senior Architects to develop architectural designs from initial concept to completion. Create detailed architectural drawings and plans using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards. Contribute to the design process by conducting research, preparing design presentations, and offering innovative ideas. Participate in team meetings to gather project requirements and present design proposals. Coordinate with consultants and contractors to ensure the design vision is realized throughout the projects, as needed or requested. Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or a related discipline. 4 to 5 years of professional experience in architectural design, with a preference for classical architecture. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; familiarity with other design software is also advantageous. Preferably, a strong portfolio showcasing design skills and knowledge of classical architectural styles and details. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently between deadlines. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail. Engage in a wide range of projects, from expansive country estates to grand urban townhouses and uniquely classical apartments, all reflecting our expertise in classical design. Work alongside a team of talented and seasoned architects and designers who are passionate about design. A supportive work environment in San Franciscos Presidio Heights neighborhood.
