We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our Service Team. The Fabricator will be responsible for performing high-quality welding, fabrication, and repair work on tank trailers, ensuring all equipment meets DOT, HM, and company standards. This role requires a strong technical background, precision craftsmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced service environment.
Position Responsibilities • Perform fabrication, welding, and modifications on tank trailers, including aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel components.
• Repair or replace damaged structural components, side section, pitting and other tank trailer repairs
• Ensure all work complies with DOT and HM regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as welders, plasma cutters, grinders, torches, and other shop tools.
• Inspect trailers for cracks, leaks, pitting, or other structural issues and document required repairs.
• Work closely with service advisors and service manager to provide accurate repair estimates and timelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following company and OSHA safety guidelines.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians or apprentices as needed.
Requirements • 3+ years of fabrication and welding experience, preferably in the tank trailer or heavy equipment industry.
• Proficiency in MIG, and Tig with multiple metals (stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel).
• Strong knowledge of DOT and HM regulations related to tank trailers.
• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical trailer systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in various positions (standing, crouching, overhead).
Physical Requirements • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, climb and sit for extended periods of time in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in written and verbal skills with customers, management, and team members.
• Travel as needed to other Company locations by vehicle, plane, or train.
