Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring a CO or compact RN license and AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital environment within the Med/Surg and Telemetry float pool
• May float to any facility within a 60-mile radius of the assignment location or designated float zone
• Patient population includes medical-surgical and telemetry cases
• Uses EPIC electronic medical record system
• 12-hour night shifts with a schedule of three shifts per week
• Must demonstrate flexibility and competence when floating to multiple units and facilities
• Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications, performing wound care and specimen collection
• Engage in patient and family education and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Delegation to non-RN staff per state and hospital guidelines
• Must adhere to hospital policy, standards of care, and regulatory guidelines
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Flu vaccination is required during flu season unless a medical exemption is provided
• Professional dress code and adherence to organizational mission and values is expected

Requirements

• Active Colorado or compact RN license required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; Associate degree required
• One year of nursing experience preferred, especially in Med/Surg or Telemetry
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• No pending or inactive licenses accepted
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• No local candidates within 60 miles of any float location will be considered as travelers
